Project Change Management in Three Different Industries: A Case Study
The most challenging aspect of any effort to improve Project Management capability
is the human element. The spectrum of appetite for change in organizations spans
from 1) very soft on change to 2) “we must change now if not sooner.” This
discussion of change management looks at three companies and analyzes each from
the perspective of what is driving the desire to do things differently, to who is
driving the changes. It looks at each case (one from Financial Services, one from
Technology, one from Software Development) and explores the motivation for change,
the originators of change, and the effects of change as training, processes and tools
are applied to areas of attention in a project-heavy organization.
The exploration of human dynamics in organizations asking for PM training, process
development and software tools is fascinating and this talk provides insight from
real-world implementations that is intended to help the audience consider change in a
context that may be helpful to their own work environment.
