About the Speaker

Tom Westcott   is the CEO and founder of Project Solutions Group, a full-service project management consultancy and Microsoft Certified Partner specializing in project and portfolio management strategy, consulting, training and systems implementation.

Tom began his career as an independent consultant at Cambridge Technical Partners (CTP). After years of exceptional service, Cambridge hired Tom as a project manager in their Custom Education Services division. His primary responsibility within the division was to implement customer training programs, with such clients as Lucent, Mutual of New York, and ADP. Tom also developed Cambridge’s project management methodology, CTP’s competency model, as well as a set of project management tools which the company still uses today.

In 2001 Tom applied his expertise in project management and staffing to start a unique project and portfolio management consulting business. In 2001 Project Solutions Group was incorporated. PSG’s early focus was to deliver world class training programs to organizations in the North East. In order to ensure the success of PSG Tom invested heavily in sales and marketing; enabling their rapid growth and creating a unique niche in the marketplace.

In 2002 Project Solutions Group began their partnership with Microsoft, to ensure the long term success of Microsoft’s Project Server customers. Since the relationship with Microsoft began, PSG has become recognized as one of the top Microsoft partners in the North East, New York, Mid Atlantic, and Northern California markets, as well as a trusted advisor for business decisions.

In addition to his work nationally, Tom has delivered training and consulting services overseas in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Geneva, London, Frankfurt, Bangalore, and Tokyo.

In 2003, Tom was approached by the University of Wisconsin and asked to deliver his unique training curriculum at the University’s Executive Education School of Business. In 2006 PSG received its official University affiliation allowing PSG to teach university accredited courses on-site to customers across the globe. Tom continues to teach at the University of Wisconsin’s Executive Education Center in Madison, WI. where he teaches a variety of Masters Level Project Management Courses.

In addition to being a gifted businessman Tom is a certified project management professional, being a well-regarded and well sought after public speaker, and instructor. Tom is also a published author and has had articles published in various trade publications including PM Network, DM Review, Chief Project Officer, Bank Technology News, and Projects@Work.

Tom attended Brooklyn College and the Massachusetts Institute for Technology, where he studied English and mechanical engineering.
