How to Plan and Manage Project Risk: A Hands-On Workshop

About the Speaker

Michael C. Nollet, PMP, founder of Creating Excellence, Ltd., is an independent management consultant with over 20 years of experience helping individuals and organizations achieve the best possible results from their investments in new projects.

Mike specializes in the areas of project management and new product development. Mike’s current clients are in the financial services, pharmaceutical, and consumer products industries.

Mike designs and delivers programs that help achieve business objectives, and often customizes the objectives to meet specific client needs. His classes typically feature case studies, lots of exercises, and hands-on work where students apply the classroom concept to their real projects.

Mike uses his superior communication and facilitation skills, plus some dry humor, to actively engage students in their learning, while constantly challenging them to apply the concepts, and develop their own skills and knowledge after the classroom event is over.

Mike has developed and delivered learning events on:

  • Principles of Project Management
  • Managing Troubled Projects
  • Pragmatic Project Risk Management
  • Basic and Advanced IT Project Management
  • Accelerating New Product Development
  • and many other related topics. One large client has selected Mike to develop and deliver high impact “Train the Trainer” events across the U.S., Latin America, and Asia.

Prior to starting his consulting firm in 1995, Mike was senior product manager at Sun Microsystems in Burlington, Massachusetts, responsible for establishing value added partnerships with major software vendors. Mike was also senior business manager for a global services provider, training over 4,000 project managers in the US, Latin America, and Asia. Mike has also worked as an engineering manager, developing new technology products with team members around the globe.

Mike is certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional, PMP. He is a member of PMI and the Product Development and Management Association. Mike earned his BS in Mathematics at the University of Lowell, Lowell, MA, and his MBA at Boston University.
