The Heart of the Matter: The People Side of Project Management
Who are your stakeholders…and what do they want?
As a project leader or manager, you have many stakeholders with different
needs, personalities and expectations. Like a good conductor, a project manager
must orchestrate relationships as well as tasks and resources to make the right
things happen. When everyone is in tune with each other, projects become
expressions of expertise and creativity that are meaningful…and even fun…for everyone.
We often think of the Golden Rule when working with others…treating them
as we like to be treated. Unfortunately, even when applied, the Golden Rule
doesn’t always produce harmonious relationships. That’s when the Platinum
Rule can be very effective…treating others as they like. But how do you know
what others really need? And why is that important?
At our Valentine's Day meeting, you’ll learn how to build rapport and trust
by speaking other people's language (and we're not talking French or German here).
You’ll learn how to "read" people to understand what makes them click.
In this highly interactive session you'll work with your colleagues, creating
platinum strategies for getting along with people who have different styles. Using
a diagnostic approach, you will gain new insights and ideas to improve your business
and personal relationships. In fact, bring your sweetie to this meeting. You’ll
both get some tips for spicing up your romance.
